Mascot and Cheerleaders

The Washington Redskins do not have an official mascot.

The official cheerleading team is the Redskins Cheerleaders. Founded in 1962, the team is the oldest in the NFL and was initially known as the Redskinettes. The team’s nickname is the First Ladies of Football. The cheerleaders represent the Redskins’ team colors with their white, gold, and burgundy uniforms. The squad was the first one in the NFL to travel to Asia to perform and endorse U.S. products, and over its history the team has appeared in several magazines, TV specials, and performed with popular singers. The Redskins Cheerleaders have been regarded at times as the best and hottest cheerleaders in the NFL.
