Report: McCloughan wanted to offer Cousins extension in 2015

Scot McCloughan was interested in signing Kirk Cousins long term, however it was for half of what he’ll be paid this season.

According to Jason Cole of Bleacher Report, the Washington Redskins former general manager was ready to offer Cousins a long-term contract worth $12 million per year, however became “uncomfortable” as his price approached and then exceeded the $20 million mark. Per Cole, no contract offer was ever extended prior to his departure from the franchise.
