Last year, be it by coincidence or design, the Washington Redskins signed three starters from the NFC East; one from each team in the division. The Skins signed Barry Cofield from the New York Giants, Stephen Bowen from the Dallas Cowboys, and Sav Rocca from the Philadelphia Eagles – all three played at a high level last season.
Is there a better way to excel within their own division? Even if the Redskins signed a player or two for depth this year, those individual could give the Redskins some good information. Last year they signed Tashard Choice mid-way through the season, which appeared to mostly for information on the Cowboys. They will never say that, but it happens; we see it every year.
None of the players from last year's raid were "big name" players for the other teams, but they were able to more than adequately fill some of the Redskins holes.
Here's a look at some available players of areas of need:
DeSean Jackson, WR (Eagles)
Vince Young, QB (Eagles)
King Dunlap, OT (Eagles)
Evan Mathis, G (Eagles)
Alan Ball, CB (Cowboys)
Laurent Robinson, WR (Cowboys)
Terrell Thomas, CB (Giants)
Mario Manningham, WR (Giants)
